age requirements
nightcrawlers is strictly a 21+ group for both muns and muses.
character types
only skeletons and original characters are allowed.
content advisory
our plots and characterisations heavily feature mature themes involving trauma, corruption, violence, death, and a bevy of morally complex situations related to horror. these themes are integral to the rp — no matter how big or small — and we encourage you to let your creativity run wild. however, we also ask that you write about these topics with the utmost care, sensitivity, and tact. if those themes make you uncomfortable, this may not be the right group for you.
faceclaim guidelines
before choosing a faceclaim, check the taken and banned tabs in our fc directory to make sure your choice isn’t off-limits. we also recommend you check out our wanted tab!
we loosely follow the (+/-) 5 rule: your muse’s age can be up to five years older or younger than your faceclaim’s age in real life. for example, if yumi nu is 29 years old in real life, her muse’s age can be anywhere from 24 to 34. again, we only follow this rule loosely — what matters is that your muse’s age is appropriate for their faceclaim and their resources.
using resources isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly encouraged. we accept medium-sized gifs, gif icons, giftangles, coloured and cropped screenshots, and static icons. if you need help finding resources, send a message in the ask box channel, and we’ll be happy to help.
managing muses
when you first apply to nightcrawlers, you can do so with two plot-relevant muses. then, after four weeks of consistent activity (three replies weekly, per muse), you can apply for your third muse. you can repeat this process until you reach five muses, which is our maximum limit, but we ask that you take up varied muses to explore different plots.
activity checks
we use weekly activity checks to maintain our group’s momentum.
here’s how it works:
each week, we post an activity check in its respective channel every sunday at 10 pm pht with a question of the week. to let us know that you’re still interested in staying, all you need to do is answer the question.
that said, we do hope you do at least three replies per week. we don’t strictly enforce this, and we aren’t going to follow every thread to check whether you’ve done your replies before the weekly activity check. however, while this isn’t something we strictly police, it’s a reflection of the group’s pace. if three replies a week doesn’t feel sustainable, this may not be the right group for you.
we use the clock on our notion hub as a reference for the current time and date.
taking breaks
if you’re planning on taking a break, just dm us through the ticket bot with a brief message such as, “i’m taking a break!” along with how long you’ll be gone and when you’ll be back (in pht).
plot developments
major events in your muse’s life — death, pregnancy, or anything else that could impact others — should be discussed in advance with the involved muns and admins through the admin hotline channel.
resolving conflicts
if an issue comes up between you and a fellow mun, please try to handle it among yourselves first. a lot of tension can be dissolved through an open, honest, and respectful discussion rooted in good faith. however, if you’ve both made a genuine effort to resolve it and still need mediation, just dm us through the admin hotline channel. our priority, always, is to keep nightcrawlers a welcoming space for all muns.
